What is SIA OSDPTM
SIA Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDPTM) is a communications protocol that allows peripheral devices such as card readers and biometric readers to interface with control panels or other security management systems. Security Industry Association (SIA) has developed this protocol to foster interoperability among security devices. These efforts are led by the Access Control & Identity Group.

At ISC West 2014, the Security Industry Association (SIA) presented its first-ever SIA OSDPTM Plugfest and Cocktail Reception. Hundreds turned up to witness how a growing number of access control manufacturers are using OSDPTM as a building block for the next generation of physical access control systems.
