Subcommittees and Working Groups
Biometrics and Identity Working Group
Formulates and drafts SIA positions advocating for the use of biometrics as part of employee verification programs to policy makers and stakeholders.
Critical Infrastructure Protection Subcommittee
Identifies CFATS proposals and offers interpretations of CFATS-related policies while drafting position statements and meeting with government officials.
GSA Policy Working Group
Provides SIA members with information about government policies impacting their Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) contracts and serves as a forum for members to discuss policies that affect their ability to conduct business with customers who acquire electronic physical security solutions through the MAS Program.
PIV Working Group
Creates visibility and access to government agencies and contractors involved with the implementation requirements of PIV in accordance with HSPD-12, FIPS 201 and related documents and standards.
State & Local Policy Subcommittee
Monitors state government activities affecting the development, use, and sale of electronic physical security solutions and provides insight into the state legislative challenges facing the industry while shaping SIA’s support for or opposition to these initiatives.
Publications
State Policy Digest (SPD)
Provides a review of the previous quarter’s state legislative proposals, activities and trends impacting the electronic and physical security industry.
Fiscal Year Informer (FYI)
Shares resources and information for unlocking government grant funding and following the federal appropriations process and other factors that affect government spending.
