Trendfinder

The Security Industry Association (SIA), in partnership with Reed Construction Data/RS Means, is pleased to introduce SIA''s Trendfinder, an exciting new resource exclusive to SIA members!

Using Trendfinder

SIA holds bi-monthly training webinars about Trendfinder every 2nd and 4th Monday at 2:00 p.m. ET. Details about topics covered and login information can be viewed here.

Members can use Trendfinder. Non-members can view a demonstration. Learn more about SIA's many member benefits.

A Web-based tool, Trendfinder lets users create, view and save customized market data reports. As a result, SIA members can now track industry-specific trends. This new resource will improve decision-making and provide a leg-up on the competition.View a tutorial of the product.

How does it work?

Data is acquired from Master Format-based construction bid documents for new construction and renovations. The documents are scanned and optical character recognition is used to identify keywords associated with specific technologies. Results are presented in a user-friendly, Web-based format.

An interactive U.S. map defines security technology acceptance as well as the size of vertical construction markets and submarkets. Drop-down menus permit extensive "drill-down" into the data, which is regularly updated. Metrics displayed include number of projects, construction project value and total square footage of projects.

SIA Members Only - Upgrade to the Custom Research Engine!

SIA's Trendfinder is an exclusive member benefit. If you find the data useful, an upgrade to the SIA Custom Research Engine will make hard-to-find competitive data available only to your organization. SIA members can customize the data search to compare their brand's market penetration to the competition. Through user-defined keyword searches, the Custom Research Engine can track market data on a user's brands compared to competitors' brands.

With the Custom Research Engine users can:

  • define specific sales regions at the state level
  • quantify the number of projects, construction dollar volume and square footage by region and state for their brand and the competition
  • evaluate brand market penetration and market share across regions and states
  • analyze trends by vertical market and submarket level across regions and states

As a SIA member exclusive, the actionable competitive intelligence gives Custom Research Engine users an edge over their competition at a fraction of the cost of commissioning custom research.
